Firearms Registration

All Non-Residents who are bringing firearms into Canada must register all firearms with The Canada Border Services Agency ("CBSA") upon entering Canada. As a non-resident you have two options described below for meeting the Canadian licensing and registration requirements.
Further information can be found at the Firearms Users Visiting Canada section of the Canadian Firearms Center's website.
Option 1
Declare your firearms in writing, in triplicate, using the Non Resident Firearm Declaration. (PDF file requires Adobe Reader ).
Fill out your form ahead of time to save time at the point of entry. Once a customs officer has confirmed your declaration it is valid for 60 days. A confirmed declaration costs a flat fee of CAD $25.00 regardless of the number of firearms listed on it. It is only valid for the person who signs the form and for those firearms listed on the declaration. If you come with others who will be using firearms in Canada, you will each need to meet these requirements.
Option 2
If your first point of entry is Saskatoon, Saskatchewan you can pre-register your firearms by sending a copy of the registration form to the Saskatoon CBSA as follows:
Step 1. Fill out the Non Resident Firearm Declaration form. (PDF file requires Adobe Reader ).
Step 2. Complete the fax cover sheet (PDF file requires Adobe Reader ).
Step 3. Fax these 2 documents to Saskatoon CBSA at (306) 975-5917.
Should you wish to reach a customs agent in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan you can call (306) 975-4755.
